Strength progress

See your strength grow, set by set.

GymTribe turns every set you log into estimated 1RM and heaviest-weight charts for each exercise, personal records with a live PR alert, weekly volume trends and a map of the muscles you trained.

How it works

From every set to a clear trend.

Log your sets as you train. The charts, records and muscle map fill in from them.

  1. Pick from 600+ exercises, follow a routine or start a quick workout, and log weight and reps set by set, with supersets and a rest timer.

  2. Heaviest weight and estimated 1RM, best set and session volume, and most reps, each charted over 3 months, 6 months, a year or all time.

  3. Each exercise keeps six records. When a set beats your heaviest weight, estimated 1RM or rep record, a New PR alert appears during the workout.

  4. Volume, workouts, sets and reps added up by week, with your latest week, your average and your best, so one off day doesn't hide the trend.

  5. A body map shaded by how many sets each muscle got, with sets, reps and volume per muscle, from today to all time.

Estimated 1RM, in one line

weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)

That is the Epley formula GymTribe uses. A set of 8 at 60 kg estimates a one-rep max of about 76 kg, so a heavy set of 3 and a lighter set of 10 can sit on the same line. Read the trend, not a single point.

Strength tracking questions

What GymTribe tracks for your lifting, and how it works it out.

What strength stats does GymTribe track?

For each exercise: heaviest weight, estimated 1RM, best set volume, most reps, best session volume and max session reps, as charts and as personal records. Across your training: volume, workouts, sets and reps by week, and how many sets each muscle got.

How is estimated 1RM calculated?

With the Epley formula, weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30), from the sets you log. A set of 8 reps at 60 kg gives about 76 kg. The free 1RM calculator on this site uses the same formula.

Does GymTribe show 1RM progress charts?

Yes. Every exercise has an estimated 1RM and heaviest-weight chart. Those two trend charts are part of Premium; on the free plan you still get PR alerts, records and set and session charts for your last 3 months.

What counts as a personal record?

Each exercise keeps six: heaviest weight, estimated 1RM, best set volume, most reps, best session volume and max session reps. The first set you ever log for an exercise is never a record, because there is nothing to beat yet.

When does the New PR alert appear?

During your workout, as soon as a set beats your heaviest weight, estimated 1RM or rep record for that exercise. The alert shows the new value next to the one it beat.

How does GymTribe work out training volume?

Volume is weight multiplied by reps. A set of 10 reps at 20 kg is 200 kg, and a session's volume adds up every completed set.

What is the muscle distribution map?

A body map shaded by how many sets each muscle received, with a male or female figure, and a table of sets, reps and volume per muscle. Each set counts once, for the exercise's primary muscle.

Can I see my progress over 3 months, 6 months or a year?

Yes. Charts and trends cover 3 months, 6 months, a year or all time. The free plan shows your last 3 months; Premium shows your full history.

Can I log weights in kilograms or pounds?

Yes. Weights show in kilograms or pounds, whichever you choose in the app.

Does it have routines, supersets and a rest timer?

Yes. There are 600+ exercises, quick workouts, starter and custom routines, supersets and a rest timer, and you can build a workout plan with AI.

Can GymTribe track my food as well as my lifting?

Yes. Meals, calories and macros sit in the same app as your workouts, along with sleep, steps and water, so a training week and the food behind it are on one screen.
